Blogging at wee hours

I can’t think of a very nice title for my post but I think that’s still cool. LOL!

No matter how I try to convince myself to sleep, my brain doesn’t agree with the idea. I have abnormal sleeping habits, I like to be awake from 12 midnight to 5am and sleep until 12 noon or so.

I’m not really depriving myself from enough sleep coz actually it’s one of my favorite thing to do. It’s just that I prefer to sleep during the day! Sometimes, I’d like to apply for jobs that have graveyard shifts! hahaha! I really hate waking up early but I have no choice during weekdays coz I have to go to the office so I sleep at least 4 to 6 hours.

Why is it that I like to be wide awake during those hours? It’s simple… I find peace in it. Nobody disturbs me,  No noisy neighbors :D , I can focus easily to what I want to do… I can contemplate. Is there something bothering me? Yes, there is and a lot. I always have deep thoughts on anything and everything that happens to me and to my surrounding. That’s one reason why I’m having a hard time sleeping, I think a lot. Oppps, symptoms of an Anti-Social person! Yes, much likely! I’m anti-social… a loner…I have my own world! I’m fine with my laptop, internet and drinking WATER. :D Everybody don’t seem to see it coz I easily get along with people. I talk and throw jokes a lot in a group!  I think I’m still normal. This is just the way I am.

It’s time for me to sleep now… Ciao!

5:17 A.M.

Yes! It’s 5:17 A.M. and I’m still wide awake…

Earlier yesterday, I finally purchased my own shared hosting in web.com.ph. This is where I purchased my domain name also. What made me do that anyway? Well, I got pissed of 000webhost.com’s free hosting service. Their servers are always down and it’s irritating! I’m sure you’ll ask me how much did it cost me to get a shared hosting? Well, my 1 piece of cigarette cost more than that a day! lol! See how cheap it is! What I’m just obliged is that I have to renew my domain name and host yearly but I don’t care! This makes me happy everyday each time I see my own place in the web.

Setting up my site again wasn’t easy as I have thought. Thanks God I’m a Programmer! :D 000webhost ftp wasn’t working anymore and I can no longer browse my wp admin panel. The DNS set up was messed up, I don’t know what they have done with it coz I haven’t touched it for months.  What I did is back up my wp database from 000webhost panel, opened mySQL script and executed in my new host those data that I need to make my site alive again.

How about my physical files? Thanks God 000webhost did not disappoint me. I discovered that they have this feature that you can still browse your public_html files even though your ftp doesn’t work anymore. I was also able to access my files by changing the ftp host name to the actual I.P. address.

At the moment, I’m transferring my files to my new host. I’m hoping that it will be better coz it is not free anymore!

ciao!

Wordpress and PHPlist

I was losing my mind earlier looking for the solution to my problem. I installed PHPList to my client’s web host (root directory). The installation started very easy but when I tried to access the admin page for the final configuration I was getting a bunch of page not found from IE and firefox.

As usual, I went to Google and looked at each significant search results. An hour passed and another hour passed, I can’t make it work using those solutions posted in Wordpress forums as well as in other techie blogs.  I almost lost my hope to make it work  until I came across this blog http://zebrahost.net/zblog/?cat=11.  Yes! It did the trick! I first thought it’s in WordPress .htaccess overriding PHPList .htaccess. Wheeew!

The fix requires commenting out line 12 in the htaccess file which is located in the root directory of the PHP List script. All that was needed was to add a # before the line reading php_flag magic_quotes_gpc on

Darn that #! It took me 2 hours to solve it. I hope this post will help others having this problem too.

4 A.M.

Those past weeks I have been so busy. I haven’t written anything here. What makes me busy anyway? Freelancing…My Regular Job…Self-studying…Chores…Traffic…Four hours of sleeping…Lovelife! :D LOL!

For me, life is not a bore. As what I thought it was before. It’s full of problems, challenges, bad and happy endings everyday. Am I talking non-sense again? hmmm… I just feel like writing this early in the morning. I’m waiting for my Joomla installation to get finished in my other site. I just realized that I have to upgrade it. Took it for granted for months already. Lots of plans, I just don’t have enough time, I am thinking how to make 24 hrs longer. hehehe!

Only 700+ files left to finished uploading. 30 minutes more and I’m heading to sleep. I need to be up by 9am, Overtime… My life has never been this busy!

Paying a Visit to the Grandest Manila Ocean Park!

Last Saturday (August 2), Xai and I went to the 1st state-of-the-art Oceanarium here in the Philippines. It is planned to consist open water marine habitat, boutique mall, restaurant row and function facilities all located in one complex at the back of the Quirino Grandstand. But right now, only the Oceanarium is available for the public. The first phase of the construction is on-going.

The Oceanarium journey begins with:

  1. Agos (Flow) – brings you to an artificial rainforest and water fall with 8 different water tanks displaying various flora and fauna.
  2. Bahura (The Reef) – shows you a series of 46 tanks that feature the very colorful Philippine underwater rainforest.
  3. Laot (Fishing Ground) – showcases four big distinct aquariums will display an assortment of fish in all sizes and colors.
  4. Buhay na Karagatan (Living Ocean) – lets you experience a breathtaking 25-meter walk along an underwater tunnel and experience how marine animals interact with each other in their natural habitat. This main feature of the Oceanarium provides an unmatched and truly awesome encounter with the rich underwater world.
  5. Kalaliman (The Deep) – showcases marine animals found in the deepest parts of Philippine waters.
  6. Overhang Tank – displays a variety of rays fly over while you’re under this unique Overhang Tank.
  7. Pating (Shark) – features several species of shark. Come fact-to-face with the wonderful, often misunderstood, predators of the sea.

Our Php 800 is really worth it. No regrets though we haven’t brought a good camera to take shots of the different species of marine animals. I’m yearning for those macro shots! Sigh! I’ll go back there someday when I have my Nikon D300 12MP DX Professional DSLR! I wish! Hahaha!

Anyway, what I can offer you right now is shots taken by my Nokia 6233 cell phone 2.0 M camera.
